About Ortho-Bionomy®  Ortho-Bionomy is a gentle, non-invasive, system of healing that reminds the body of its natural ability to restore balance. Its principles are based on a simple and profound philosophy: allow the body to correct itself. The hallmark of Ortho-Bionomy is the ease of pain relief.

The founder, British-trained Osteopath Arthur Lincoln Pauls, discovered how to gently stimulate the body’s reflexes for self-correction in a way that supports a person’s own healing mechanisms. The body is stimulated using gentle movements, comfortable positioning, brief compression and subtle contact. The result is seemingly effortless pain and tension relief, natural re-alignment, relaxation and a deep sense of well-being. The individual is engaged to participate in their own recovery, and through the process can begin to rediscover the ability to heal and restore comfort, ease and balance back into their body.  All work is done clothed.

While Ortho-Bionomy is a complete modality in and of itself, it can be easily incorporated into many other bodywork or massage therapy modalities. This foundational class will cover the history, philosophy and principles of Ortho-Bionomy and provides an overview of the basic release techniques and anatomy for the vertebral column as well as the neck.

About Ortho-Bionomy®:  Ortho-Bionomy is a gentle, non-invasive, yet powerful system of healing that reminds the body of its natural ability to restore balance. It uses specific body positions to provide effective pain relief and restore balance to body, mind and spirit by engaging the body’s natural ability to heal.

We will explore positions that facilitate the release of muscular tension, reset proprioceptors and increase the range of motion of joints. Students will learn how to stimulate the inherent self-corrective reflexes of the body that help the body to create structural alignment and balance naturally. We will notice the subtle and everlasting effects of Ortho-Bionomy physically and emotionally. All work is done in comfortable, loose clothing.
